This course will provide you with the resources and community support to build a strong foundation for your professional journey. Through a series of interactive sessions, you will gain practical knowledge and skills, develop a professional network and build confidence to successfully navigate your career. This coaching course will explore unique barriers and challenges that you may face in education and practice. The course modules include:

Module 3: Navigating supervisory relationships
Module 4: Managing workload and preventing burnout
Module 5: Reflection, integration and future planning

The group coaching course will explore the unique barriers and challenges faced by students and professionals.
This coaching program is designed to support social work students and newly qualified social workers in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world practice.
We provide a safe and empowering space to discuss challenges, build confidence, and develop practical skills for success.
Group coaching sessions are facilitated by an experienced social worker and coach. Each session includes:
1. Focused discussions on key social work topics.
2. Practical strategies for navigating workplace barriers and challenges.
3. Peer support and networking opportunities Q&A and reflective exercises
Topics include:
1. Transitioning from education to practice.
2. Navigating workplace challenges as a Black social worker.
3. Managing stress, self care and avoiding burnout.
4. Understanding policies and procedures.
5. Confidence building and professional development.

Weekly group coaching sessions are 90 minutes from 7pm to 8.30pm (GMT).
During the self assessment you will have the opportunity to identify your individual focus throughout the sessions.
The results from coaching will depend on your input.
The time that your coaching process will take depends on the complexity of your goals and your commitment and openness to your process.
This course is delivered weekly through individual and group coaching modules to integrate and apply your learning. The course is interactive course and it will take place online using a virtual platform.
The sessions will not be recorded to support you to share and maintain your privacy in a confidential and safe space.
£625 per participant. Alternatively you can pay £175 per module if you would like to participate in a one off session. Each session is 90 minutes, the sessions are weekly over a 5 week period.

The group session will have 8 to 10 participants.
The content is delivered live through weekly sessions. The sessions aim to create an intimate and safe conversation space.
The group will work together to share their individual and collective experiences to support each other to achieve their goals.
The results from coaching will depend on your input.
The results from group coaching will depend on your motivation, commitment and dedication to change. We will work together to support you to take actions to achieve your goals.
The participants will be supported with email communication between the modules. The participants will also be supported within the Facebook group, Private Whatsapp group and the journal.
Email contact between the modules, with course dates and additional worksheets.
Confidentialty is maintained in the sessions. It is important to note that if there are any safeguarding concerns this would be refererd to the approrpriate services.
The group agreement will be developed by the participants. During the first session we will co create the shared expectations for the course.
Before the course begins
1. Check your email – Look for a confirmation email with course details, including the schedule, meeting link and any necessary materials (pens and a notebook).
2. Set up your technology – Ensure you have:
o A stable internet connection.
o A laptop, tablet, or smartphone with a camera and microphone.
o The required video conferencing app (Zoom and Microsoft Teams) installed and updated.
3. Test your equipment – Do a quick test call to check your audio, video and internet connection.
4. Prepare your materials – Download or print the worksheets.
5. Set up your space – Find a quiet, comfortable place with minimal distractions. Use headphones for better audio quality.
Joining the coaching session
1. Log in early – Join the session 5–10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
2. Use the right link – Click on the meeting link provided in the email. If required, enter the meeting ID and password.
3. Enable video and mute microphone – Keep your camera on (if preferred) and mute your mic when not speaking to reduce background noise.
4. Engage actively – Participate in discussions, ask questions and take notes.
5. Follow guidelines – Respect group rules, stay professional and support fellow participants.
After the Session
1. Review notes and materials – Reflect on key takeaways and complete any assigned exercises.
2. Engage with the community – Join discussion groups.
3. Prepare for the next session – Check for homework, upcoming topics or additional resources to review in your email.
Following this programme for an additional fee you can participate in monthly individual or group coaching sessions to support you to monitor, review and continue to achieve your goals.
