Training

Cultural sensitivity training for safeguarding professionals

Safeguarding children and young people requires an understanding of their diverse backgrounds and lived experiences. This course equips professionals with the knowledge and confidence to work in a culturally sensitive way, ensuring that practice is inclusive, respectful and effective. You will learn how cultural sensitivity strengthens safeguarding practice, reduces bias and sterotypes and builds trust with children, families and communities.

Tackling racism and inequalities in safeguarding children and young people

Racism and inequality can directly affect children’s safety, wellbeing and opportunities. This course challenges professionals to recognise how racism and inequalities impact safeguarding decisions and outcomes.  Through real life case studies, reflection and practical tools, participants will develop strategies to address bias and stereotypes to ensure every child is protected and supported.

Self reflection to safeguard children and young people

Effective safeguarding starts with self-awareness. This course encourages professionals to reflect on their own values, beliefs, assumptions and practice to ensure they are putting children and young people first. By engaging in guided self-reflection, participants will identify areas for growth and strengthen their ability to make balanced, child-centred safeguarding decisions.
